October 4 in 1957 at 22 hours 28 minutes 34 seconds Moscow time in the Soviet Union was launched the first artificial Earth satellite, which weighed only 83.5 kilograms and was equipped only with a radio transmitter. The first satellite was located in orbit for only three months, this event was the starting point for the active exploration of outer space by man.

On the 60th anniversary of the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, the Belintersat project congratulates the respected partners and all those involved in the development and exploration of outer space, and hopes for a long-term and productive cooperation in the field of satellite communications.
